What does a Data Architect do at Fluence::
- Design, develop, and implement data solutions that meet Fluence’s strategic data and analytics needs.
- Evaluate and select data extract, transform, and load (ETL) technologies and services, considering scalability, performance, cost, and security.
- Develop and maintain data models, data integration strategies, and data pipelines – for current and future data ecosystem.
- Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data consistency, quality, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business users to ensure the successful deployment and utilization of data solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud data technologies and trends.
- In addition to Cloud Architect, act as lead/principal data engineer.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience with cloud-based data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and define data architecture roadmaps.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of data from various sources, implementing standardization measures to maintain uniformity throughout the firm.
- Create and manage data models to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
- Design and implement data architecture strategies that support scalability, security, and optimal performance.
- Define and enforce data governance standards and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Institute data quality standards across various datasets to instill confidence in enterprise data.
What does the ideal candidate look like:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based data solutions from scratch.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and data modeling principles.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL/ELT tools.
- Extensive experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling
- Specialize in data-related technologies, including proficiency with big data tools and database management systems.
- Strong knowledge of data integration tools and ETL processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exhibits adaptability and willingness to learn new skills/technologies.
